Announcement re: Dr Sarah Bull

Dear Patients,
I would like to thank you for trusting me to look after you as your GP at CSS for the last 24 years.
It has been a privilege to care for you watch your children grow and support you.
Recently I have had time to reflect on my working life and have decided to resign as a partner from Crown Street Surgery.
I will continue to work as a portfolio doctor which will create more variety in my work and also allow me to explore other interests.
My last working day will be the 23rd December.
I will leave your care in the capable hands of the team and wish you all health and happiness.

Dr Sarah Bull

Blood tests – routine blood tests postponed

A supplier to the NHS has advised us of a global shortage of some equipment used for taking blood tests.

Anyone who needs a test for urgent health problems will still get one but where your clinician feels that it is appropriate to do so, then you may be asked to come back for a test at a later date, or your appointment may be rescheduled.

Given the nature of the shortage, we cannot give an exact date for when the test will be rescheduled, but please be assured that if your condition or symptoms require it, then you will get a test, and we will be re-booking your test when supplies become more easily available.

If your condition or symptoms change or get worse, please contact the NHS as you would normally.

Dr Naz Pambakian retirement announcement

Dear Patient,

As you may have heard I have now left Crown Street Surgery after nearly 32 years initially starting at Avenue Crescent in 1989 and subsequently at Crown Street since Dec 1998 after we moved into the purpose built premises.

It has been my immense privilege and honour to serve the community in Acton over those years.

I am so sorry not to be able to let all my patients know in person of my departure but with the many hundreds to whom I am close, that was just not possible.

I am pleased to leave the surgery in the very capable hands of the remaining partners and the rest of the nursing and administrative teams who will continue to offer you all the highest quality medical care.

I sincerely wish you all good health, happiness and long life.

With all the very best for the future.

Dr Naz Pambakian.

Covid updates

Covid-19 vaccine updates

If you need to inform the NHS about receiving a COVID vaccination abroad please use this link.

NHS England have informed us that you can access your COVID-19 vaccination status through the free NHS App from 17 May. You can access the app through mobile devices such as a smartphone or tablet. Proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will be shown within the NHS App. We recommend that you register with the app before booking international travel. If you do not have access to a smartphone and know that the country you are travelling to requires COVID-19 vaccination status, you can call the NHS helpline on 119 (from 17 May) and ask for a letter to be posted to you or request this online here. This must be at least 5 working days after you’ve completed your course of the vaccine. We expect the letter to take up to 5 working days to reach you. GP Practices cannot provide letters showing your COVID-19 vaccination status. GP Practices cannot get you an earlier vaccination slot.

We will contact patients when the Covid-19 vaccine is available for them.                  Please DO NOT contact us but just keep rechecking this webpage.

If you are in groups 1 – 9 or over 18 you can book an appointment for your COVID vaccine by calling 119 or booking this via the national online booking system. The local GP hub’s are no longer in operation.

Please read this leaflet to explain why you might need to wait: Covid-19 Vaccine: Why do I have to wait Leaflet.

Please read this leaflet to know what to expect after having the vaccine: Covid-19 vaccine: What to expect after vaccine leaflet

As you will be aware, the COVID-19 rates of infection have increased to significant levels in our area.
At the same time we need to maximise our work of vaccinating patients with the COVID-19 vaccine.
We have been advised to free up time with our team to help look after patients with emergencies and protect patients with the vaccine.
If your problem is an emergency then please call 999
If you need to contact the practice with other symptoms or queries please use the eConsult link below.
Your online form will be reviewed by a clinician and you will be contacted back with a text.
You will either be contacted by the surgery to ask you more questions or you will receive a text on what to do next.

During December, Covid infections have risen sharply in London and this has led to increased demand for hospital care.

  • Please be aware the 111 service is currently under extreme pressure in our area. GP surgeries are open from 08:00 to 18:30 (core hours), except on weekends and bank holidays.
  • If you have COVID symptoms, please visit  or call 111
  • If you have a medical emergency, please dial 999 as usual.

Self care changes for over the counter medication

Your GP, nurse or pharmacist will not generally give you a prescription for over the counter medicines for a range of minor health concerns. Instead, over the counter medicines are available to buy in a pharmacy or supermarket in your local community.

The team of health professionals at your local pharmacy can offer help and clinical advice to manage minor health concerns and if your symptoms suggest it’s more serious, they’ll ensure you get the care you need. Please help the NHS to use resources sensibly.

Your GP, nurse or pharmacist will not generally give you a prescription for certain medicines that are available to buy in a pharmacy or supermarket, even if you qualify for free prescriptions.

Flu Clinic 2021

During 2021 flu season Crown Street Surgery is working with the St Mary’s Church to have our clinics in the Church Hall. The location is opposite the Morrison’s in Acton a short walk from the practice (see picture below to the entrance to the Church Hall, it is right next to the main church entrance)

  • Patients must contact the surgery to book an appointment as we need to maintain social distancing guidelines so anyone who doesn’t have an appointment could be turned away.
  • Please wear light clothing as you will need to have a bear arm to quickly be seen and leave the building as quickly as is possible.
  • All patients must wear a face covering. If you cannot wear a face covering please speak to the practice before you attend to advise us of this so that we can inform you what you should do.
  • We kindly request that patients come alone or with one family member or carer, to maintain social distancing.
  • The church hall toilet facilities cannot be used so please do not be offended if you cannot use the toilet when you attend.
  • Patients cannot have fever, flu like symptoms OR COVID-19 like symptoms during their appointments. If so, please call us to cancel your appointment

These guidelines are important to keep staff and patients safe during these unconventional times.
